PAT
Settings Screen
To download your
PAT, click on the download button on the toolbar
or select the "Download PAT"
option from the "File Menu"
(Quick Key Press CTRL + D)
The Pat settings screen is used to select which PAT tester you have, any com port and baud rate settings need to establish communication with the tester and any additional settings such as how you would like any notes or comments fields in your PAT tester to be assigned within SimplyPats.
You can select your PAT tester by clicking on the Manufacturer tabs at the top, and where the manufacturer has several models, clicking the relevant model tab at the bottom.
You can also get an alphabetical list of all the 38 Pat tester models by clicking on the drop down list Select PAT Tester and selecting your particular model.

Selecting Your Com Port
Before attempting to download from your PAT tester, ensure you select the com port that your PAT tester is attched to on your PC. The
Device button will open your computers Device Manager screen and show what com ports are installed on your PC. (However if you get stuck or are not familiar with windows device manager please contact who ever deals with your computer hardware, or ring the SimplyPats techincal support for help See Contacting SimplyPats Technical Support)
Using The Notes or Comments Fields On Your Tester
Many PAT testers have notes or comments fields which you can use whilst in the field testing to enter extra information about the appliance you are testing. You can assign these notes to various fields within Simplypats e.g. to record a fail reason or to automatically record charge and repair codes for automatic invoicing. When you Are Ready To download
When you have set any options on your PAT tester screen and have navigated on your PAT tester to the point at which downloading is just about to start, click the download button
and the SimplyPats download screen for your PAT tester will appear.
If you want more help on how to start the download process for your particular PAT tester, click on the
Help Button on your PAT tester screen where you will be shown detailed help on how to download.
Ok
Saves any changes that you have made and closes the Pat Settings screen.
Cancel
Abandons any changes you have made and closes the Pat Settings screen.
Device
Clicking on the Device button will open the Windows Device Manager screen so that you can check what com ports are installed on your PC and their com port number.
Path
Clicking on the path button will open the Temp folder within SimplyPats. This is the folder where raw data from your PAT tester is first downloaded. You may be asked to click on this button so that you can email a raw data file for your PAT tester in the event that there are any issues reading the data.
Clicking on the web button will open your web browser and take you to the main SimplyPats page. There are links on that page to our remote access software which can help us diagniose and issues you may have when downloading your pat tester.
