Spell Check

Clicking on the Spell Check button or clicking on the "Tools" menu and selecting "Spell Check" (Quick Key Press SHIFT + F7) , will bring up the spell check screen below. You should spell check your data before you print it out as any spelling mistakes will ruin the quality of your test reports. See Also - Maintaining Dictionary

If a word is misspelled then the spell check screen appears with the Not In Dictionary box containing the misspelled word. The Change To box will have the same misspelled or unknown word. You can either:

Type a replacement spelling in the white Change To box
Click on the yellow Abbreviation Replace (if a matching abbreviation is found) to fill the Change To Box contents
Click on one on the yellow matching words to fill the Change To Box contents

And / Or select one of the options below to either ignore, add or change the word.

ADD
The Add button will add the word not found into your dictionary. Make sure you check the spelling of a word before you add it to the dictionary. If you are not careful, you will soon end up with a dictionary containing all your misspelled words!

IGNORE
Clicking on the Ignore button will ignore this misspelled word and NOT add it to the dictionary.

IGNORE ALL
The Ignore All button will ignore this misspelled word and NOT add it to the dictionary and if it finds the same word again will ignore it without prompting you.

CHANGE
Clicking on the Change button will replace your misspelled word with the text found in the Change To box.

CHANGE ALL
This button will replace your misspelled word with the text in the Change To box, if you continue checking and the spelling checker finds the same misspelled word, it will automatically replace it with what you typed in without prompting you.

Change To Box
This box allows you to enter the text to replace the misspelled word. You may type in the box, or, the box will be filled by clicking any one of the yellow matches listed from the dictionary or by clicking the yellow Abbreviation entry (if there is one).

REMEMBER

The Spelling Check starts checking from the first record to the end of the file. The spell check may take some minutes when checking larger files, or where there is an interval between finding any spelling mistakes. During this period you are a progress screen is displayed, showing how far through the process the checking has got.

Cancel

Closes the spell check screen and stops the spell check.
