Bulk Replace Selection

The Bulk Replace Selection screen appears if you have Selected A Range of appliances on the Main Screen and then pressed the Bulk Replace button. This option allows you to replace various items of data without editing each individual record. You can replace all your selected tests with different Location e.g. EQUIPMENT STORE shown below. This is an easy way of moving the location of your appliances.

Select "Bulk Replace" from the "Tools" menu (Quick Key Press CTRL + J) or click on the Bulk Replace button on the Main Toolbar. Make sure you have highlighted a range of tests first. See Also Select Multiple Tests

If you click on the Trash can button it will clear the entry for that particular field.

Add this Prefix to Appliance Id

This field works slighlty differently in that whatever text you enter in this field will be added at the start of each appliance id. That is it will prefix each of your appliance id values. If all your appliance id's are numeric but your PAT test labels have some characters in them at the start you can automatically add these using this field. For example by entering ABC in the field, appliance id 01233 wil become ABC01233. This can be useful if you have manually entered tests in SimplyPats.

Remove Leading Zeroes From App Id

This tick box works in a similar way to the field above. If you tick this box, any appliance id's that have leading zeroes will have those zeroes removed. For Example, Appliance Id 00003456 would become 3456. This function may be useful if you have a PAT tester that automatically puts leading zeroes on the Appliance Id, or where you use a bar code scanner that also adds zeroes to the start of appliance id's that it reads.

Ok

You need to click OK to perform the bulk change. There is a progress bar displayed at the bottom of this screen to show how your changes are progressing. This is particularly useful if you are changing data on a file with several thousand tests or the computer you are using is not especially quick.

Cancel

Click Cancel to close the bulk change selection screen without performing any changes to your data.

TIP!

Remember: It is a good idea to back up your file before making bulk changes - just in case you later decide to revert to the original data
