The Fluke 6500 downloads data at a Baud Rates of 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400. In the SimplyPats PAT Settings screen you should set the Baud Rate the same as set on the Fluke.
Connecting the PAT to your PC
Before going any further, make sure your PAT tester is connected to your computer using the supplied cable (only use the cable that came with your PAT tester). Setting what to use the Notes field on the PAT tester
Before downloading, ensure you have selected from the drop down box on the Pat Settings screen what you want to assign the Notes field on the Fluke. Using the Notes Fields On Your PAT with SimplyPats
Changing Baud Rate On Fluke 6500
You can change the baud rate on the Fluke 6500 by pressing SETUP, scroll down to COMMS RATE set, then press GO, then use the Left and Right Arrow keys to select the baud rate you want and then finally press GO to save.
Downloading the Fluke 6500
Turn on your Fluke 6500 and press the PC/PRINT key on the front of the PAT.
You should now see the following screen.
DOWNLOAD to PC is selected by default, press the green GO key on the PAT
You can select to download from a range of options, RECORD NUMBER, DATE, SITE or KEYWORD.
After making your choice, press the GO key to continue.
Set the Format to PowerPATPlus.
On The SimplyPats PAT Settings Screen
On the SimplyPats PAT settings screen first Select the Com Port that your PAT tester is attached to using the drop down box at the top of the screen.
Now set the Baud Rate from the drop down box to the same that your PAT tester is set to.
To Start the Download process, click on the download button and you should see a screen similar to that shown below as SimplyPats waits for the data from your PAT tester.
Finally, you must now press GO on your PAT tester, to start the download process.
After downloading has finished, you should see your test data displayed in SimplyPats.
Raw Data Backup
SimplyPats automatically creates a back up of the raw data downloaded from your PAT tester and places it in the RawData folder within the main SimplyPats folder. This location of this folder is usually C:\Program Files\SimplyPats 6\RawData\
