MPAT SUITE - For use with Martindale MPATPLUS and other manual testers.

MPAT SUITE is the Martindale branded version of SimplyPats. This version only supports download from the Martindale MPATPLUS PAT Tester with other manual PAT Testers being supported through the Manual Entry Screen.

Your MPAT SUITE software may be refered to as SimplyPats in the Help File and on our Web Site. This is to ensure that MPAT SUITE users can take advantage of all future developements in SimplyPats. This also means that we only need to support one product.

All support for your MPAT SUITE software is handled through RSR Systems Ltd, using the normal methods; Phone (UK Local Rate), Email or Forum, please see our web site for further information.

Limitations of the MPAT SUITE Version compared to the native version of SimplyPats Version 6are as follows;

• The only downloadable PAT Tester supported is the Martindale MPATPLUS.
• Import of other PAT manufacturers data files has been removed.

Licencing your MPAT SUITE software.

You must first licence your software before the download from your MPATPLUS or the manual entry features become available. You can licence your software by clicking here and following the links to Licence Your Software. Alternitively, from MPAT SUITE, click "Help" on the file menu and choose "Licence SimplyPats", where you will find a direct link to the licence page. See Also Licencing SimplyPats

You will need the following information at hand:

• The Serial Number (This can be found on the inside of the CD Box)
• Your Company or Trading Name.
• The Name of the person you wish to register the software to.
• Telephone Number and Full address and email address if you have one.

Updating your MPAT SUITE software.

MPAT SUITE users can take advantage of the same FREE updates, utilities and custom reports that are offered for download to SimplyPats users. Please note, that certain features contained in these free downloads may not apply due to the limitations of the MPAT SUITE software, please see above.

All updates and other files are available from the SimplyPats Web Site or Forum.

Connecting the PAT to your PC

Before going any further, make sure your PAT tester is connected to your computer using the supplied cable (only use the cable that came with your PAT tester). Setting what to use the User Id field on the PAT tester

Before downloading, ensure you have selected from the drop down box on the Pat Settings screen what you want to assign the Notes field on the MicroPat Plus. Using the Notes Fields On Your PAT with SimplyPats

Downloading the Martindale MicroPat Plus

From the Main Menu of the MPATPLUS

Press the PRINT/DOWN button on the PAT Tester

Check that the BAUD rate is set to 9600. SimplyPats will ONLY download the MPATPLUS at 9600. If you need to cheage the Baud Rate use the RATE button on the MPATPLUS to toggle between 1200 and 9600 Baud. After checking the Baud Rate, press the PRINT/DOWN button on the PAT Tester.

On The SimplyPats PAT Settings Screen

On the SimplyPats PAT settings screen first Select the Com Port that your PAT tester is attached to using the drop down box at the top of the screen.

Now set the Baud Rate from the drop down box to the same that your PAT tester is set to.

To Start the Download process, click on the download button and you should see a screen similar to that shown below as SimplyPats waits for the data from your PAT tester.

 

Finally press the ALL button on the MPATPLUS You will see the tests being downloaded.

After downloading has finished, you should see your test data displayed in SimplyPats.

Download Cable and USB Adaptor

A download cable for your MicroPat+ is available from Martindale Electric (Part Number TL125). For those wishing to make up their own cable, or to check an existing cable, the wiring is as follows;

For computers with USB ports only, users will need a USB adaptor, these are also available from Martindale Electric (Part Number PATUSBADAPT)
