Code

The single character code you must enter on the PAT to say which repair has been done. See Test Prices and Repair Codes for which line to enter this information on the PAT when you are out in the field.

Note: You cannot add more codes, only amend code A to Z and 1 to 9 in the Repair Prices screen. Codes 2 to 9 are labelled user defined, however you can edit their descrptions.

Description

The description of the repair carried out. This text will be itemised on your invoice so check your spelling carefully.

Type

The type column allows you to enter either AMPS, MINUTES or METRES (or you can select None for No Type). This describes the repair type.

Most repairs do not have a quantity of anything with them EG: Rewire Plug Top.

However some Repairs such as Supply 2.5mm cable need a further figure to be added into the PAT to say how many metres of cable you have supplied.

Max Value

The max value is the maximum allowed value given with a repair. For example if you are supplying fuses, it is unlikely that you would fit a fuse greater than 13 Amps, so, in the Max column for Replace Fuses, the Max value would be 13. When you download the data from the PAT, SimplyPats will check you have entered a value between 1 and 13 Amps. The Maximum value for Metres and Minutes is 99.

Price

The price you want to charge on your invoice for this repair service.
NOTE 1 - In the case of repairs with metres, this price is PER METRE.
NOTE 2 - In the case of labour charges, the price should be PER HOUR, even though you will enter the number of minutes labour into the pat when you do a repair on an appliance.

Creating a New Repair Price Scheme

You can create different sets (Price Schemes) of repair prices for charging clients at different rates. For example you may want to create a discounted price list for some clients. If you click on the New button you will be prompted for the name of the new price scheme:

Type in the name of the new price scheme and press OK. You then have a new set of prices which you can edit. The set of prices is a copy of the Default Price Scheme.

You can select which Price Scheme you want to edit by selecting it from the combo box at the top of the screen.

SimplyPats will remember the last Repair Price scheme you have edited and will automatically show this scheme when you go back into maintain test prices.

When you create an invoice for a customer you will be able to select which price scheme you want to apply to the invoice. See Also Creating An Invoice
